Variable Vapour Compression Refrigeration (VCR) System Test Rig
Brief Description of New Concept
- This variable VCR system is designed to be “variable” in true sense. It consists of a variable speed compressor, two options for cooling load, two types of condenser and three types of expansion device. This system gives a flexibility of operating 12 different VCR systems in a single setup. It helps is analyzing the VCR system in every possible configuration. Each of this configuration can be operated at the desired compressor speed. Data acquisition and controlling is made seamless with the use of HMI. The entire operation of the VCR system is automated with PLC controls and data logging via USB. The system can also be remotely operated by an Ethernet connection & Wi-fi.

Combine Solid-Liquid Desiccant with Variable Vapour Compression Refrigeration Test Rig
Brief Description of New Concept
- This system is a test rig to study the entire operation of an AHU or domestic air conditioning systems. It consists of a variable speed compressor, a humidifier with two options for desiccant system to create desired ambient conditions. This system gives flexibility to operate 4 different features of an AHU along with variable VCR system in a single setup. This gives a possibility of studying 19 combinations of psychrometric processes. Each of this configuration can be operated at the desired compressor speed. Data acquisition and controlling is made seamless with the use of HMI. The entire operation of the system is automated with PLC controls and data logging via USB. The system can also be remotely operated by an Ethernet connection and also remotely operated by wi-fi.

Automatic CO2 capture pilot plant
Brief Description of New Concept
- This pilot plant can evaluate the sustainability of absorption/desorption technology for CO2 capture from a targeted unit specialized in industrial waste incineration. The purpose of this setup is to investigate chemical interactions between synthetic flue gas and solvents and their impacts on process performance. At the same time, we complete our prospection by laboratory experiments to study the influence of specific degradation products on process performance. In this pilot project, we choose to focus on gas absorption and desorption by creating an inlet condition of flue gases to study the performance of different solvents.
- This pilot plant is designed in such a way that it can easily be mobilized at any location for pilot testing. It consists of a fully Automatic control panel with HMI for controlling the plant to operate it at the different conditions for evaluating different solvents and to record all the data. This system gives the flexibility to operate in batch vies process or continuous process in a single setup. It helps in analyzing the performance of different solvents by operating them on different conditions to obtain the desired performance.
- Data acquisition and control are made seamless with the use of HMI. The entire operation data logging via USB. The plant can also be remotely operated by an Ethernet port and Wi-Fi.
Heat Pump Assisted Food Dryer
Brief Description of New Concept
- Heat pump (HP) dryers have been used as one of the useful and promising drying techniques in food industries owing to their low energy consumption and costs, high coefficient of performance (COP), high energy efficiency, high drying efficiency, low drying temperature, and time, and less quality loss of dried products. It can be operated over a wide range of temperatures and humidity, providing the optimum conditions for drying of heat-sensitive food materials (vitamins)
Solar Tree
Brief Description of New Concept
- Solar Power Tree is basically a structure that is designed like a tree with branches made of mild steel to hold the photovoltaic panels.
- A solar tree incorporating solar energy technology on a single pillar, like a tree trunk. It may be a solar artwork or a functional power generator.

Technological innovations
- It uses much less space on the land compared to the conventional solar photovoltaic layout.
- By holding the photovoltaic panels at a higher height, on an average it gets more sunrays for one hour in a day.

- Vacuum curing oven used for curing the product rapidly. This vacuum curing oven uniformly maintain the temperature of the chamber and makes perfect environment for the curing.

HDH & Flash Chamber Desalination System
Brief Description of New Concept
- Humidification dehumidification (HDH) is a small to medium capacity desalination method. Humidification is the process in which the moisture or water vapour or humidity is added to the air. Dehumidification means removing the moisture from the air. In Flash Chamber desalination system hot water is sprayed into vacuum flash chamber, it will generate low pressure and temperature steam. This steam is condensed by cold water in shell and tube heat exchanger.

Hydrological Investigations (River Flow & Rain Fall) Test Rig
Brief Description of New Concept
- The Mobile bed flow visualization and Rainfall hydrographs are a self-contained unit designed to demonstrate some physical processes found in hydrology and fluvial geomorphology, including rainfall hydrographs for catchment areas of varying permeability, the formation of river and their features and effects of sediment transport, the abstraction of ground water by drains, both with and without surface recharge from rainfall, etc.
Technological Innovations
- This unit allows demonstrating on a small scale, the hydrological principles of ground water flow and the applications of these principles in some engineering constructions. Moreover, it allows to study the use of drains for water abstraction, de-watering and drainage of lakes, and demonstration of flood risks linked to land drainage works.
GEOTHERMAL ENERGY ASSISTED FOOD DRYER

- The Geothermal food dryer uses geothermal hot water energy to remove moisture from food to aid in its preservation.

VCR Cycle Based Milk Pasteurization
Brief Description of New Concept
- This setup is basically used to cooldown the milk to a low temperature (5 °C or lower), to temporarily prevent growth of microorganisms.
- Following pasteurization, the milk is also cooled again to about 4 °C.
- To prevent aerobic spore-forming bacteria from multiplying after thermization, the milk must be rapidly chilled to 4 °C or below
Technological innovations
- Desired lower temperature of the milk can be achieved (Min lower temp limit 3 ºC)

Chemical Reactor For Laboratories
Brief Description of New Concept
- High, low and vacuum pressure chemical reactors design and fabrication with SS316L based on customer requirements. Swagelok and competitive brands components used for the process execution. Also used in setup for CO2, N2O absorption and desorption experiment at laboratory scale, pilot scale. Measuring instruments are Honeywell and competitive brands. Reactor for catalyst reaction is also available.
Planetary Ball Mill
Brief Description of New Concept
- Amaze make Planetary Ball Mill has four grinding tanks installed on one turntable. When the turntables rotate, the tank axis make planetary movement, the ball and samples inside the tanks are impacted strongly in high speed movement, and samples are eventually ground into powder. Various kind of different materials can be ground by the mill with dry or wet method. Minimum granularity of ground powder can be as small as 0.1um.

Propeller Type Water Current Meter
Brief Description of New Concept
- Propeller Type Water Current Meter is used to measure velocity of water flow directly in m/s. The spindle carrying the propeller wheel freely rotates in the pivot assembly. The magnet and reed switch assembly produces one pulse per rotation. The rotation of the Water Current Meter is sensed by sensor & gives pulsed output signal.
- Operating Range: 0.3 to 3.5 Meters per second

Vapour Absorption Refrigeration (VAR) System Test Rig
Brief Description of New Concept
- Simple Vapour absorption system consists of evaporator, absorber, generator, condenser, expansion valve, pump & reducing valve. In this system water vapor is used as refrigerant and solution used is LiBr+water. Strong solution of LiBr+water contains as much as water as it can and weak solution contains less water.

- The function of a compressor is done by absorber, a generator, pump and reducing valve. The simple vapour compressor system is used where there is scarcity of Electricity and it is very useful at partial and full load. Proppant Transportation System
Brief Description of New Concept
- An experimental set-up for investigating proppant transport mechanisms in low-viscosity, high-rate slick water, hydraulic fracture treatments in shale reservoirs. Experimental set-up involves primary, secondary and tertiary fractures.

- Different slick water treatment scenarios were simulated by varying the pump rate, proppant concentration, and proppant size to study the proppant transport behavior.
Flash Chamber Based Water Desalination System
Brief Description of New Concept

Atmospheric Water Generator (AWG)

- A innovative design of Atmospheric water generator (AWG) of 1 T capacity which produce 30 L/day distilled water and also give cold air of 5-10 C for Air conditioning and Hot air of 50-70 C for food drying as a heat pump.

- A grooved evaporator is been designed such a way that maximum amount of water can be extracted from atmosphere

Liquid Desiccant Dehumidification based VCR system

- This is an experimental set up for vibration based crack detection in pipe. This system is design such a way that it can generate pressure in pipe up to 10 bar with high pressure cutoff system. System can use water, oil, acid or any chemical as a testing purpose with UPVC, GI or SS pipe.

Solar Still (Flat Type And Stepped Type)
Brief Description of New Concept
- Solar still is a useful device that can be used for the distilling of brackish water for the drinking purposes. Solar still is a simple way of distilling water using the heat of the sun.
- The solar still uses the same evaporation and condensation phenomenon for the fresh water generation that happens in atmosphere to form rain.
- A conventional solar still and Stepped type solar still is shown in figure.
Technological innovations
- From comparison, it can be seen that the productivity of the stepped solar still is higher than that of the conventional.
- PCM can be filled inside the steps of the stepped solar still to improve its performance.
